Installing SCREENish on Mac
Step 1: Log in to screenish.com and download the DMG file.
Step 2: Double-click the DMG file to open it.
Step 3: Drag the SCREENish icon to the Applications folder.
Step 4: Eject the DMG (right-click > Eject).
Step 5: Open SCREENish from Applications. Click Open if prompted about the download source.
Step 6: Grant permissions (Screen Recording, Input Monitoring) when requested. You can adjust these later in System Settings > Privacy & Security.
Installing the Beta version (PKG file)
The Beta Version of the Mac app comes as a PKG installer instead of a DMG — one universal build for both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs — so the steps are different:
Step 1: Open Downloads in your dashboard and download the macOS Beta Version (a .pkg file).
Step 2: Double-click the .pkg file and follow the installer: click Continue, then Install, and enter your Mac password when asked. The installer places SCREENish in Applications by itself — nothing to drag, no DMG to eject — and replaces any SCREENish version you already have.
Step 3: If macOS warns about the download source, right-click (Control-click) the .pkg file and choose Open. On recent macOS versions, approve it under System Settings > Privacy & Security > Open Anyway instead.
Step 4: Open SCREENish from Applications, log in and grant the same permissions as above (Screen Recording, Input Monitoring).
