Workforce Monitoring Notice: The Screen Workers See at Sign-In

Follow this guide if, after signing in to the SCREENish web dashboard, you see a screen titled Required Information with the words Before you continue: please review the notice below. It shows the Workforce Monitoring Notice: a plain-language text explaining what the time tracking your employer uses records about your work. Every worker sees it once. Confirming that you have read it takes a few seconds and nothing else about your account changes.

What this notice is, and is not: it is information, given to you before monitoring starts. It is not a contract and it does not ask you to agree to anything. Terms of Service are accepted by the employer, not by workers. The only exception is Face Verification: if your employer uses it, a separate consent line appears below the notice, and that one is your choice.

How to continue past the notice

  1. Scroll through the notice text. The text box scrolls on its own, separately from the page.
  2. Tick the checkbox I have read this notice. If a second line, I consent to Face Verification, is shown, tick it too. Every line must be ticked before the button becomes active; otherwise it stays grey and the screen says Please confirm each item above.
  3. Press Continue. The button reads Saving... for a moment, then the dashboard opens.

Your confirmation is recorded together with the version of the text you were shown, so the screen does not come back at the next sign-in. It appears again only if the notice text is updated later.

The screen cannot be closed with the Esc key or by clicking outside it. That is by design: the dashboard opens only after the confirmation is recorded.

If the screen does not go away

  • The button stays grey. One of the lines is not ticked. Scroll down inside the screen; a second line can sit below the notice text.
  • You pressed Continue and nothing happened. Reload the page (Ctrl+F5 on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) and sign in again. The screen shows once more only if the confirmation was not recorded.
  • It still does not move. Try a private (incognito) window, or another browser. Ad blockers and privacy extensions sometimes block the request that records your confirmation; allow screenish.com in them, or turn them off for this step.
  • A red message says the confirmation could not be recorded. Wait a minute and press Continue again. If it keeps failing, write to support with the browser you use and a screenshot of the screen.

The SCREENish desktop app does not show this screen, and your tracked time is not affected by it.
