Accounting: The Complete Guide
Accounting turns tracked time into timesheets and payroll. It takes the approved blocks from the work logs, applies the hourly rates you set per employee and project, and gives you the hours and amounts for any period, as a table on screen, a CSV, a printable sheet or an XLS file, by hand or by e-mail on a schedule. This guide goes through the filters, the outputs and the two rate tools.
Filters
At the top you choose what the timesheet covers. Approved / Not approved / Both decides which blocks count; payroll normally uses approved time only. Then the project, the employee (or everyone), and the period, with quick buttons for this week, last week, this month and last month. Show payrolls adds the amounts next to the hours; Single line collapses each person to one row instead of one row per project.
The timesheet
Rows are grouped by date and note, so a day with two notes shows as two lines. At the bottom stands the grand total of hours and, with payrolls on, the amount per employee at their rates in your default currency. The time is the same 10-minute blocks you see in the work log; a block that is deleted or not approved is not here.

Exports
Export CSV downloads the table you see, for a spreadsheet or your accountant. Print Timesheet opens a clean page to print or save as PDF. Download XLS gives the Excel version with the same filters. Accounting software that imports hours (QuickBooks Time and similar) is served by the exports on the API & Integrations page.

Reports by e-mail
A report subscription sends the XLS digest to an address every week or every month, for one employee or the whole team. Edit subscriptions lists what is active, lets you mute a report for a while, activate it again or delete it.

Rate tools
Hourly rates live on the Projects page, per employee and project. Accounting adds two tools on top. Change Hourly Rates rewrites the rate for a past period and a set of projects, when a raise should apply from an earlier date. Set Premium Hours pays a higher rate for a time-of-day window, as a one-off or as a daily rule, and the work log highlights the affected blocks in green.

Paying your team and billing your clients are two different numbers
Everything on this page is about what you pay. What you charge a client for the same hours is a separate rate, set on the Clients page under Bill rates, and the invoice itself is made on the Client invoices page from the same approved time.
