Work Log: The Complete Guide
The Work log is the monitoring screen of SCREENish: one employee, one day, everything the tracking app recorded. Open it from the left menu and pick the person at the top, or click a Last seen pill on the Users page, a name on the Team page, or a shield pill from Activity review. This guide covers every element on the screen and the approval controls that decide what Accounting and client invoices bill.
Finding your way around
At the top you choose the employee and the date: a date picker and arrows for the previous and next day, repeated at the bottom of the page. A 24-hour timeline strip shows at a glance when the person was working, and the total hours for the day stand next to it.
The screenshot grid
Tracked time is kept in 10-minute blocks, six per hour, laid out hour by hour. Each block shows the capture time, a thumbnail and green activity bars that encode how many mouse movements and key presses happened in those ten minutes (hover for the exact numbers). SCREENish never records what was typed, only how much.
Hover a thumbnail for the preview: the project, the activity breakdown, the idle time inside the block, whether the block is approved, and any note the employee wrote. Click to open the screenshot at full size.

Markers on the grid
- Idle time: a block recorded while the keyboard and mouse were quiet gets a dashed border, red when not approved and green when approved, and the day shows a banner with the idle minutes.
- Deleted screenshots: when the employee deletes a screenshot, a red tombstone tile stays in its place with the time of deletion, and the day banner counts them. The minutes are not billed.
- Manual time: blocks entered by hand have their own tile; manual time has to be allowed per project.
- GPS records from the Android app appear as map tiles; hover for the live map and the battery level, click for the replay.
- Phone photos taken with the Android app sit in their own gallery below the grid.
- Premium hours: blocks inside a premium time window are highlighted green, because they are paid at the higher rate.
- When screenshots are switched off for the person, a placeholder says so instead of thumbnails.

Approving and rejecting time
Approval is how you say "this time counts". Approved blocks are what the payroll in Accounting and the invoices on Client invoices are built from by default. Each block has an Approve checkbox; the buttons above the grid work on the whole day:
- Approve All approves every block of the day.
- Approve All Good approves only blocks with activity and without idle time.
- Bulk approve applies your saved approval rule over a date range, for catching up on past days.
- Disapprove All takes the approval back for the day.
- Delete Selected removes the ticked blocks.
An automatic approval rule (in your profile settings) can do the routine part for you, and the Hourly Rates toggle shows a price circle on every block so you see what each one costs.

Below the grid
Used programs today lists the applications the person worked in and how long each window title was in front, when program reports are enabled for the project. Face verification, where it is switched on with the employee's consent, shows a match percentage per hour with the samples behind it. Machine & System Info, visible to managers only, is the hardware the app reported: operating system, the monitors and their resolutions, processor, memory, cameras and a green dot when the machine is online now.

Banners only managers see
Two banners never reach the employee. A camera notice appears when face verification suspects the camera was blocked. A coloured activity banner appears when the automatic checks saw patterns of faked input in this day; it links straight into Activity review, where you look at the evidence and decide. Neither is an accusation, both are a request to look.
